What is accredited firearm profeciency training?
Its the necessary training to learn how to handle and use a firearm safely and in a legal way.
After Successfully obtaining your profeciency certificate and statement of results, You can then apply for your competency at SAPS.
How training works:
Step 1:
Visit The shop to start the process.
Step 2:
Purchase your choice of accredited firearm training.
Step 3:
Complete the open-book tests at home in your own handwriting with a black pen.
Step 4:
Submit your tests and all relevant documentation to Vos Gunshop Training Centre for assessment.
Step 5:
Book your closed-book exam and Practical shoot.
Where are you located:
How does the deposit work?
You pay 50% of the total cost for the training in advance. The rest must be paid before receiving your certificates.
Difference between competency and proficiency
Competency: This is a certificate from SAPS that proves you were found competent in handling and owning firearms.
Proficiency: Training you receive at Vos Gunshop Training to handle and use a firearm safely as well as the legal aspects.
What training is required to work for a security company
For a security company employee to be able to provide armed response services, you must complete your basic firearm training as well as business purposes firearm training, demonstrate safe handling and shooting skills, understand firearm laws, and obtain a SAPS Competency Certificate.
When can I buy a gun?
After the successful completion of all needed firearm training and documentation.
